<p> The <strong><a href="http://www.schola-sainte-cecile.com" target="_blank">Schola Sainte Cécile</a></strong> is a parisian choir dedicated to liturgical music. They sing in particular every Sunday at the parish Saint-Eugène - Sainte-Cécile, performing Gregorian chants as well as polyphonic pieces.</p> <p>  </p> <p> The Schola Sainte Cécile is headed by chapel master Henri Adam de Villiers and composed of about forty members, men and women of any age.</p> <p>  </p> <p> Recognized for the quality of their work, the Schola Sainte Cécile is regularly invited to sing during important ceremonies as last october for a pontifical mass at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.</p> <p>  </p> <p> Although motivated by a desire for excellence, the Schola remains an amateur choir composed of people who wish to promote the beauty of liturgical music and to live their faith through singing.</p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="D_une_seule_voix_1" src="https://kkbb-production.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/project_image/image/104506/D_une_seule_voix_1.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>Origin of the project</strong></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> When I discovered the Schola Sainte Cécile a year and a half ago, I was deeply moved by the emotion that came from their singing.</p> <p>  </p> <p> Through this project I wish to get to the roots of this emotion.</p> <p>  </p> <p> What do the members of the schola feel when they sing? Are they aware of the emotion that comes from their singing? What represents to them their commitment to the choir? How does their faith influence their singing? Are they more attracted by the technical or aesthetic aspects of liturgical music ?</p> <p>  </p> <p> Many questions that have inspired me to make this film.</p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="D_une_seule_voix_2" src="https://kkbb-production.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/project_image/image/104507/D_une_seule_voix_2.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>Filming</strong></p> <p>  </p> <p> The first step in our shooting will take us to San Bartolomeo Al Mare, Italy, where the Schola Sainte Cécile will make a pilgrimage.</p> <p>  </p> <p> The filming of this pilgrimage will allow us to seize moments of bonding and conviviality among the members of the Schola, bringing to light the cohesion which reigns within the group.</p> <p>  </p> <p> We will then follow the members of the Schola during various ceremonies as well as their weekly rehearsals, in order to show their work and their commitment to the choir.</p> <p>  </p> <p> The movie will plunge us into the life of the Schola Sainte Cécile, revealing not only moments of personal meditation, but also moments of exchange between its members. We will try to understand how these moments contribute to the the powerful harmony created by their singing.</p> <p>  </p> <p> We will record the members' words throughout the film, investigating the role of faith in their commitment to the Schola.
