Projet Jihane - Film

<p> <strong>OUR PROJECT:</strong> Filming 2 short movies this summer: "<strong>Natural Love</strong>" ("<em>Amour Naturel?"</em>) and "<strong>Jihane</strong>" to fight against homophobia rising.</p> <p> We already shot a scene to make these teasers, now we need you to produce the rest of the story.</p> <p>  </p> <p> The diptych symbolizes the separation of two young women: Iris &amp; Jihane. They love each other until the mother of Iris sends her daughter to a seminar supposed to "cure" her homosexuality.</p> <p> Each short will focus on a character. The action of these films will be following one another but they will still can be viewed independently.</p> <p>  </p> <p> 2 parallel stories, 2 young women, 1 great love story!   An original concept for a sensitive topic.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>Video presentation of the project by the team:</strong></p> <p>  </p> <p> <iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="304" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/9-_MkktvE2k?wmode=opaque&amp;feature=oembed" width="540"></iframe></p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>- NOTE OF INTENT</strong></p> <p>  </p> <p> The idea of this collaboration happened last summer, when we first met at a party organized on a parisian barge by women's groups after the 2012 LGBT Pride. We were very shocked to learn that an association in France, organized <a href="http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&amp;hl=fr&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;prev=_t&amp;rurl=translate.google.com&amp;sl=fr&amp;tl=en&amp;u=http://www.terrafemina.com/societe/societe/articles/15839-en-ardeche-un-stage-pour-adopter-une-l-saine-heterosexualite-r.html&amp;usg=ALkJrhjJacnONtxekcGdaQL6pkh9tivKyg" target="_blank">a seminar on "restoration" to find a "healthy heterosexuality"</a>. We made it the starting point of our two films. We had a common desire to make a professional collective work that breaks stereotypes and fantasies about lesbians.</p> <p> Even today, believable characters are underrepresented in the french media and fiction. We want to bring visibility and diversity on a universal topic with our sensitivity.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>Why two short films?</strong> We want to be reactive to the rich and eventful news on gay rights this year. But directing a feature film is too expensive and too difficult because it takes several years in the making. The choice of the diptych seemed ideal because most short films festivals have a 15 minutes-length limit. We could not tell their stories in such a short time. Far from being a hindrance, this process serves the drama and provides a conceptual touch to the project.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <i>Our films will be built on symbolism and metaphors of the "restoration" of gender, nature, life, love...</i></p> <p>  </p> <p> Both films will therefore be linked with visual and dramatic parallelism, and still retain their autonomy and individual identity.</p> <p>  </p> <p> Dealing with strong news on the issue of equal rights, this process allows us to question the notion of identity, gender, sexuality, but also society facts (suicide, homophobia, reconstruction...) other.</p> <p> "For her sake," Iris' mother enrolled her in a course of "sexualities restoration" proposed by the association "Natural Love". Hesitantly, she finally gave in to parental pressure.</p> <p> At the center, with other students, she tries to apply exercises supposed to help her being "normal"</p> <p> but lead Iris to violently reject Jihane.</p> <p> Gradually cut off from the world, she supposed to cure youth homosexuality, but destroyed her relationship with Iris, her great love.</p> <p> Jihane is sentenced to community service in a refinishing furniture workshop, with other young people in the same situation. She will make a decisive encounter with Fred and Agnélé, the owners of the place that will help her rebuilding herself.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <a member of the company <a href="http://www.tetes-a-reves.com/" target="_blank">Têtes à Rêves</a> (<em>Dreamers</em>), she appeared in several plays from his company and other artistic collaborations (Company Acts, theater and cultural center of Gennevilliers). At the initiative of several theatrical productions, she began writing a play for children who turn in different cultural venues. She also easily from the technical to the artistic and pushes her to start writing her future achievements. Currently writing two feature films projects whose "Super Heroes Never Die" on the life of DJ Sextoy, grows between two cultures: the one from her parents - a pianist mother, a father officer in the Red Army - and the one of her country of adoption. Early, her artistic sensibility pushes her to collaborate with talented artists from the French scene. Meanwhile, she made short films, including "<a href="http://prussianblue.fr/regina-demina-realisatrice-sensible/" target="_blank">Die Frau</a>". But more than directing movies, it is acting that interested Regina Demina. Three years in different schools have enabled her to develop a wide range of emotions while remaining natural and
