2050, the organic cognac in a plant-made bottle
We are proud to unveil the bottle of the FUTURE 🌍 Discover our latest vintage entitled 2050 Organic Cognac in an exceptional bottle - the very first linen bottle developed by French start-up Green Gen Technologies®. A flavorful cognac in a bottle made of woven flax fibres and biosourced resin, entirely manufactured in France, 10 times lighter than a traditional bottle. A bottle that we chose for its composition in renewable materials and for its reduced greenhouse gas emissions. 2050: a tribute to our history and a promise for our future 2050 is part of the history of our House and the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) commitment we have been pursuing for several years. A. de Fussigny, a Cognac House between heritage and audacity, located in a historic distillery on the banks of the Charente river. A common ambition: to take our responsibilities and develop concrete solutions to offer cognacs with the lowest carbon footprint. A united team, keen to embody our commitments by setting up ambitious projects aiming the in-depth redesign of our packaging policy. The Paris agreements and the latest IPCC report emphasise the urgent need to implement solutions to limit the impact of our activities on the environment and climate change. Every detail of this cognac has been designed to meet this requirement. Its name, 2050, symbolises our commitment to the future, to make it the cognac with the lowest carbon footprint on the market. Because Corporate Social Responsibility also involves sustainable relationships with our suppliers, we are making this new cognac from organically grown eaux-de-vie selected from partner winegrowers. Finally, we have chosen this revolutionary linen bottle as a case to preserve all the aromas of this outstanding cognac. 2050: the first ever spirit bottle made of linen We are proud to be the first to use the Green Gen Bottle®, which is very strong and light: empty, it weighs 85 grams compared to 700 grams to 1kg for traditional spirits bottles! Designed and manufactured in France, this bottle uses composite material technology, which consists of assembling two components to combine lightness and rigidity. It combines flax fibre, known for its strength and lightness, and a biosourced resin. Flax does not require much water and grows very well in France (the world's leading producer of flax fibre), which ensures a local supply of raw materials for this bottle. The flax threads are assembled in a cylindrical braid and then impregnated with a resin to obtain the solid and waterproof shell of this unique bottle. We combine this bottle with a label made from a natural, paperless, biodegradable and water-soluble polymer, which we will be the first to use in the wine and spirits market. The result is a lightweight, strong bottle which requires less water and energy from production to transport. For us, this bottle is one of tomorrow's solutions for high-end packaging. From the consumer's point of view, it is a material to be discovered by touch, which overturns the traditional codes of the bottle and transforms the tasting experience. Thomas Gonon, the president of our House. 2050, an ode to naturalness 2050 Organic Cognac is a transparent, natural and true cognac, which brings organic methods up to date as a tribute to the House's heritage and deep convictions. It is made from carefully selected organically grown eaux-de-vie aged in French oak barrels. No additives (neither sugar nor caramel) are added. A nectar of character, spicy and woody, round in the mouth with a smoky length, to be enjoyed on its own with ice or in a cocktail. The opacity of the bottle has an additional benefit: to better preserve this precious nectar by protecting it from light. Veaceslav Olaru, our Cellar Master.
