Après le déluge

Les Enfants d'Icare are recording their new and second album this fall entitled Après le déluge. In this new cycle, the quartet presents compositions on texts from Arthur Rimbaud's Illuminations. Registration date: November 2023 Label: Collective Deluge physical and digital distribution: Socadisc/Absilone Release date: 2024 Indeed, after the deluge that we all experienced in 2020, the need to express ourselves and speak out arose. By exploring the Illuminations of A. Rimbaud, it appeared that there was a very strong source of information here, on the state of our world and the dangers that await it. But poetry has this force, which - like music - allows you to convey a message by going directly to the heart (or the soul) without ever crossing the intellect. To carry out this project, the quartet decided to collaborate with two exceptional jazz voices: those of Léa Castro and Loïs Le Van. Finally, the phantasmagorical visual universe of photographer and visual artist Sarah Bouillaud (https://www.sarabou.fr/) will continue to accompany the music of Les Enfants d'Icare more than ever, this time offering a visual work for each poem/composition. Below 'Democracy' one of Sarah's works on the eponymous poem which was projected on stage during the creation of Après le déluge (After the flood) at Le Triton in April 2023: The quartet are still the same 4 musketeers: Boris Lamérand - violin, viola & composition Olive Perrusson – viola Antoine Delprat - violin & composition Octavio Angarita - cello to which will be added the voices of Léa Castro and Loïs Le Van. The quartet continues its work in collaboration with the collective and label Déluge, which has supported us since the beginning of the creation of this quartet https://www.collectifdeluge.fr/ Finally the recording will be produced and mixed by Emmanuel Gallet, a studio and sound veteran, with whom Boris Lamérand has already had the opportunity to work in his early days and who has produced a multitude of albums and several rewarded albums with among them Tony Gatlif, I Muvrigny, Pierrick Pedron. The recording will take place at La Briche, an unusual place for unusual music, where the quartet has already had the opportunity to record and do a residency.
