Chest Project

The project: I was alreay a big fan of photography when my friends gave me a Instax Fuji to have me take a break from my digital camera. I immediately enjoyed this new media and started using black and white instant films right away. One of my first shots, as a joke in the bathroom, focused only on a male chest. This first Polaroid set the start of the Chest Project. The composition and the colorlessness show how we are all the same but all different by shifting the attention away from the face and to a specific zone. The anonymity and the reference to dating apps are also two fun elements to me. After 5 years of work, I decided to assemble all the pictures in a book and share the experience. In order to make this project live, the first step is to determine if we can go past the 300 copies. This is the threshold allowing the offset technology to kick in and provide the best printing quality possible. About the book: It will be 100 pages, 21 × 24 cm format with a high grammage and a nice hard rough cover. If all goes well, the printing and delivery will take place before the end of the year. About me: If you end up on this page, you probably know me already, either in real life or through Instagram. Otherwise, my name is Matth, I'm 30ish and I've been taking pictures for years. I live in a pop universe, a bit crazy and often provocative. This project trully shows who I am, a fitness enthousiast, a bit obsessive but simple and fun at the same time.
