Join us in launching Crewmate, the revolutionary tool for film and audiovisual professionals. Hello everyone! We are Thomas, Romeo, Vincent, Dimitri, Benjamin and Jer. Together, we are bringing to life Crewmate, an app that promises to transform the management of film shoots for the film industry professionals. Our goal? An ambitious launch scheduled for the first half of 2024. How was Crewmate born? Crewmate is a project initiated by Thomas, the founder of Camlist - an application for preparing camera lists that quickly gained worldwide adoption. Launched at the end of 2019, Camlist had, three years later, a little more than 5,000 users in about sixty countries, with nearly 13,000 projects prepared for cinema, platforms, and TV. Overwhelmed by such enthusiasm, the app became a victim of its own success, and it became difficult, if not impossible, to evolve and optimize it. Camlist was eventually removed from the App Store in April 2023. Armed with this experience and aware of the real demand for such a platform, which to date does not exist on the market, Crewmate was born from the association of Thomas, Dimitri, and Romeo, former students of the BTS Audiovisual in Cannes - all three wishing to participate in the improvement of tools for audiovisual and film production. We are developing Crewmate with future evolutions in mind, which is crucial in establishing a universal, stable, and solid structure. Thus, although Crewmate will initially be aimed at camera assistants and directors of photography, we will subsequently welcome other technical departments, such as sound, lighting, machinery, photography, or video/broadcast. Thomas - Founder & iOS Developer I am a camera assistant on feature films and TV series. When I’m not on set, I’m typing lines of codes on my computer - my favorite activity since my 8 years old. I released 3 apps that had their heyday on the AppStore, my last one being Camlist (2019), born from the meeting of my passions for cinema and computer programming, totaling over 10,000 installations worldwide. Dimitri - Co-founder & Back-end Developer I'm Dimitri, a seasoned Digital Imaging Technician and Video Operator in the film and commercial shooting sector. When the cameras stop rolling, I dive into coding, a hobby I've had since childhood. This blend of film knowledge and coding led me to Crewmate - a project that combines my love for cinema and programming. My aim? To make an essential tool for the film industry. Romeo - Co-founder & Head of Sales I’m Romeo, a movie buff with a knack for numbers. Over the past decades, I’ve honed my skills in the movie industry, forecasting box office figures and developing business intelligence tools for top studios. Now it’s time for us to make the pre-production easier and like my favorite director Christopher Nolan once said: « Breaking rules isn’t interesting. It’s making up new ones that keep things exciting. » Vincent - Back-office Front-end Developer I used to work as a camera assistant before shifting my career path to become a front-end developer. With a passion for computers since childhood, I now find satisfaction in crafting seamless user experiences through web development. Drawing from my experience in the film industry, I've honed my attention to detail and eye for aesthetics, ensuring that every pixel and interaction in my work feels intuitive and visually appealing. Benjamin - IT & Back-end Developer Hey, I'm Benjamin, a camera assistant on TV commercials with a foot in the camera rental world. I’ve learned coding between shootings and I absolutely loved it. When I heard about the Crewmate project, I didn’t hesitate to offer my help. I’m now thrilled to be part of this team and create such useful tools for the whole film industry. My passions finally meet and I’m very delighted about it. Jer - Lead Strategy Consultant Hello, I'm Jer, for those familiar with me! With a strong background in audiovisual production, I have thrived in the TV industry and co-founded Barking Lions Productions based in LA. Simultaneously, I have been sharing my expertise for over 20 years in the French National Education system at the 'Lycée Carnot Cannes.’ It was during my time there that I had the pleasure of meeting talented individuals such as Thomas, Dimitri, Romeo, and Vincent. My dedication extends to projects that benefit the community. That's why I take immense pride in supporting my former students and being an integral part of Crewmate.
