Fuerteventura: The Big Picture - Une vue d'ensemble

ViSe artistic collective (Viviane and Serge) is developing a long term (2 years) photo project in Fuerteventura, the wildest island of the Canary Islands, very close to Africa. For most people, Fuerteventura is just a warm place with long beaches. Yeah, but no… <img alt="" width="343" height="204" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/515811/Fuerte_Map1-1526228653.JPG" /> Our project is to discover and share all aspects of this island: mineral, vegetal, animal, people, houses, hidden places, sea, history, pirates’ stories etc. Of course nice and original ‘postcards’ views won’t be forgotten. <img alt="" width="413" height="306" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/515813/landscape_2-1526228719.JPG" /> It’s not well known but the apparent desert context of Fuerteventura is full of surprises. From rare bustards to turtles with human introduced camels and goats, a lot of animals are present on the islands – impressive insects too! <img alt="" width="382" height="294" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/515815/Lizard-1526229025.JPG" /> This is the same with the plant world: several cacti, succulent plants (e.g. Aloe Vera), palm trees, shrubs, and small flowers. <img alt="" width="425" height="280" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/515814/flower-1526228990.JPG" /> Humans are also important as they shaped the landscape for their needs and constructed interesting buildings (houses, wind mills…). The modern human activities  will be covered too. <img alt="" width="252" height="376" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/515816/landscape_3-1526229184.JPG" /> Last but not least, the island itself: sand, rock, volcanoes with lava. The sumptuous landscapes of Fuerteventura are an infinite source of inspiration. <img alt="" width="330" height="213" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/515818/calima-1526229475.JPG" /> What do we want to do with the pictures?First of all, it’s about a unique experience. Allocation of funds

Holidays? No! We will be there for the Project in priority and will develop an activity with our local partner (a concept shop selling organic Gazpacho and locally handmade souvenirs and ViSe pictures!). <img alt="" width="274" height="406" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/515835/Casa_1-1526231715.JPG" /> So, ViSe will need to be relocated, find an apartment, acquire new material (camera, lense,  photo lightning) and finance the social Media and Website. This project is already part financed by personal input. Interested by photography, cinema, travels, aviation and Egyptology, I always try to capture the essential and to share experience, sensations with a new eye or at least with an unusual angle.Viviane<img alt="" width="111" height="159" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/515830/Viviane-1526231222.jpg" />Vivi is an autodidact having the capacity to adapt herself easily to new places and techniques. She developed a powerful sense of sensibility that transpires through her work. Efficiency and clarity lead Viviane to always show the important, the essential.Viviane and Serge are from Belgium and live in Ireland for the last 15 years. ViSe was founded in 2013. <img alt="" width="245" height="95" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/515838/Vise_Logo-1526231802.jpg" />VISE declares itself an artistic collective. VISE desires to reveal the unexpected, the hidden, the lost, the forgotten. VISE wishes to offer an angle from another perspective and the eye and mind metamorphosis. VISE mainly exploits the image, while welcoming other media. Resembling a wave towards a new horizon, VISE propagates a discovery of a new idea of art. Inspired by Dadaism and Surrealism, VISE uses their spirit to open minds and in-fine challenges all individuals to a visual and intellectual revival.
