<p> <u><strong>_____________________________________________________</strong></u></p> <p> <u><strong>26 Minutes - Short Movie / Drama - Color - RED Epic / Blackmagic</strong></u></p> <p>  </p> <p> We are two young authors, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/sat.gevorkian?fref=ts" target="_blank">Sat Gevorkian</a>, double gratuated in Communication and Cinema; and <a href="https://www.facebook.com/guillaume.durand.1426" target="_blank">Guillaume Durand</a>, graduated in Fine Art School.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <a href="https://www.facebook.com/nddfilm" target="_blank">Naître. Devenir. Disparaître.</a> is our <strong>most ambitious</strong> project.</p> <p> We both directed few videoclips for various artists, and a short movie, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vIYWFl3JAM" target="_blank">Hung(a)ry</a>, <strong>Grand Jury Prize</strong> at Film Festival 7e Lune in Rennes.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>We are producers</strong> too, by taking  charge of half of the budget, wether <strong>5500 €</strong>. We start that <strong>crowdfunding</strong> to round off our budget and to realize that film with <strong>YOU</strong></p> <p>  </p> <p>   Naître. Devenir. Disparaître. (To Born. To Be. To Vanish.) is a 26-minutes dramatic short film. The movie, which is a mixture of several genres and influences, is a vitriolic portrait of Nikita, a 13 year-old boy determined to protect his 10-year old brother Eliott, from their dad.</p> <p>  </p> <p> The film will be shot in late <strong>October</strong>, during  <strong>12 days</strong>, between France and Spain. The memory of their mother now faded forces them to support each other against their young everyday lives' conflicts away from the chaos of the adult word. In order to protect their child’s innocence, the two brothers help each other and let themselves fall into the profound loneliness of the nature. Devenir. Disparaître</strong>. This symbolic conception of the daily life is reflected in the two siblings, Eliott and Nikita, one torn between the admiration for his brother and the other one for his father yet violent towards him. This willingness to assimilate, to reproduce and to be able to detach themselves from the physical world is expressed even in the final act, an unintentional but significant act of an unconscious unveiled by the limits of his own consciousness.</p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <u><strong>NDD</strong> is divided into two parts:</u></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> The first part, <strong>The Innocence</strong>, offers a linear frame that draws its visual atmosphere from movies as diverse as Tree of Life (2011) directed by T. Malick, Mud (2014) by J. Nichols or even The Place Beyond The Pines (2012) by D. Cianfrance.</p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> The second part of the movie, entitled <strong>Guilt</strong>, is notable for its utterly psychoanalytic and modern approach combining influences from “genre cinema” through horror cinema. Thus, we find references to movies such as <em>Fraises Sauvages</em> (1957) and <em>Persona</em> (1966) by I. Bergman, <em>A Nightmare on Elm Street</em> (2010) by S. Bayer. Indeed, the film concentrates in its <u><strong>natural elements 4 sets</strong></u>:</p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> - <strong>WATER</strong> is very present, especially via the lake, but also through the storm through which the protagonists. <strong>It is life</strong>, healing, and fills the <strong>maternal role</strong>.</p> <p>  </p> <p> - <strong>EARTH</strong> unfolds with the forest, fields, hills and beaten path, trodden by their bikes. It is the <strong>palpable </strong><strong>reality</strong> of young brothers, unlike air.</p> <p>  </p> <p> - <strong>AIR</strong> joins the divine, the <strong>afterlife</strong>, <strong>daydreaming</strong>. The air evokes<strong> </strong><strong>freedom</strong>, flight, escape the brothers cultivate.</p> <p>  </p> <p> - <strong>FIRE</strong> is the <strong>destructive</strong> element, which comes to <strong>break</strong><strong> </strong><strong>the link</strong> between Nikita to his father.
