BruMe Orchestra Brussels - Mediterranean axis Presentation The Orchestre BruMe - Bruxelles Méditerranée is an orchestra with variable geometry whose particularity is to gather musicians coming essentially from Belgium and the south of France. The artistic objective is to confront music from the south and music from the north. One often wild and intuitive, the other more ethereal and conceptual. These two conceptions of music facing each other can only bring a new way to approach the sound of an orchestra. The musicians are the bridge between past and present, ardor and mastery. They are aware of the roots of the music they play. They carry within them the vital energies necessary to interpret the music that BruMe wishes to defend. Objectives and stakes "The vital necessity of writing music is for us an essential criterion". The idea is to try to re-enchant the great monuments of the repertoire and to magnify them in contact with works in creation, whose modern and inventive discourse upsets the received ideas. The strength of a work of the repertoire is all the more perceptible when its modern "mirror" - the works we wish to create - is the result of a strong gesture that touches the listener at first hearing, does not leave him indifferent and allows him to escape the constraints of listening habits. In this respect, it is towards the South that the musicians who make up the orchestra, and above all its conductor, look. The south, of course, is not a geographical south, although the ferment of what drives us is to be found there. The compass that guides us is that of ideas, of the intention as much as the force contained in a creation of today whose composer, man, human being, shows through in a commitment far from a simple intellectual act. Audiences To reach a neophyte public by the means of the direct emotion as much as by the bridges which we can create with the artists, the creators of any hair. To commit to making music accessible to all. Renewing audiences, making them younger, bringing out new committed artists, so many exciting objectives but essential to the future of orchestral music as we like it. The BruMe orchestra becomes a tool for exchange and encounters, a bridge linking our shaken and fragmented societies. Main commitments The orchestra is composed of a minimum of 30% of young people whose first job is with the company. Initially, the orchestra will be renewed by quarter every three years, allowing a field of insertion for young graduates. The proposed programs as we have defined them above will allow us to make the public react and not leave them passive. We are also betting on a renewal of the audience! By creating their pieces, we participate in the promotion of young composers and encourage their production. Our work is therefore focused on creation, re-creation, and programs around key pieces of the symphonic repertoire in order to give them a new setting. In order to broaden our audience, we offer original, varied and demanding programming for all audiences, all venues and all occasions.
