RENCONTRES

"rencontres" (Meetings) by Souad AMIDOU, after a season in Le Paris de l'Humour, a beautiful small theater place in Paris, will be present at the Avignon Festival 2025. We have the agreement of the Théâtre de l'Optimist, located in the heart of the city, rue Olivier Puy. This “small room” contains 49 seats. The public is present, the reception conditions are pleasant and the team is serious. As its title suggests, it is a show combining story and songs. And, the icing on the cake, the Arabic language will be the guest language of this 2025 edition. That’s good, it’s also present in the show! With Jérôme SÉTIAN on guitar and backing vocals. (yes! even in Arabic!) The proof? On guitar: Nico Leroy and on percussion: Simon Ville-Renon (because sometimes there are 3 of us or more on stage, depending on the capacity of the room!)

Here is the “Rencontres” team! At the helm, there is the one who carries the project, writes her texts and songs, looks for money, organizes the rehearsals and everything: Souad Amidou. Film and television actress, singer, she accompanies herself on the guitar for the first time in front of you. As musical, rhythmic, backing singer and actor support, you will recognize Jérôme Sétian, always there when needed, a talented, warm and caring presence on set. He can sometimes be replaced by Nico Leroy, a great classical and rock musician, whose delicate touch on his guitar is matched only by his equally singular character. On stage, you will find talent, kindness, benevolence and a lot of humor! Behind the scenes: the Théâtre de l'Optimist team (Grégoire Aubert, Pascale Tronche, Jean-David Stepler) all actors and directors. The production team at La Vitrine des Artistes is made up of volunteers (it's an Association) who know how to work together so that our shows are seen by as many audiences as possible, throughout France. We play in all kinds of places, traditional theaters, but also Neighborhood Centers, media libraries, colleges, nursing homes. Wherever an audience wants to see a live performance, we say “present!”
