Sortie de French Toast de Cimrya Deal

After the release of my sample-based album Teppaz back in 2021, some people asked me to 'do a sequel'. Honestly I didn't want to. Because I hate sequels and I don't like doing the same stuff twice. I was convinced that it would automatically inferior. And in the end I started working on it and... It wasn't that good. The project lacked focus and I didn't know where to go. But soon enough my best friend told me 'why don't you sample French music?'. Yeah, right.... And after a few minutes thinking about it, it was a perfect idea! After all, I don't know that much about French music so it would be perfect! It's all a blank page to me! So I started working on it, listening to HOURS of music. Virtually unknow yéyé singers, erotic movie soundtracks, TV hostess trying to sing... you name it. It was a matter of assembling these sounds into coherent tracks. Lots of work, assisted remotely by my friend Mikael Willis. And two months later, the album was almost ready. So now, why French music? Is it another display of chauvinism from French people? Not at all. I wanted something different, and to be honest I'm not disappointed by this choice. Is it because it was all sampled from French stuff, but it's quite different from Teppaz: more poetic, more introspective... And to my fellow French people, it is a reminder that French culture is made by people from all over the world. Cimrya Deal: I'm a musicien. I tried my hands on different styles, rock, pop, electronics.... I've been active as a solo artist for 15 years and been a part of a few bands from Le Mans (Her Majesty, Yesterday Is Tomorrow, Prozav vs Heroin Loaded Bans, Cuckholders, Soggy Butt Twins...)
