Tako Toki - album release

Muju Records is launching a new crowdfunding campaign to release the first album of the trio Tako Toki. True to the label's philosophy : sobriety, promotion of local crafts, use of short circuits - we are proud to support the beginnings of this crazy, sublime and decreasing trio. Tako Toki? Tako Toki does everything himself. After making his instruments from waste, imagining and performing the music, recording, mixing and mastering in the home studio... the group is taking its "DIY" approach to the end by releasing this first album on our label, and financing it completely independently thanks to you ! Yes ! crowdfunding is a good way to scrap the evil majors record companies (boo!), the crooked distributors, the plantar warts, the hurried press officers and other stupid publishers. In addition to the funny little videos attached, you will find here exclusively on Kiss Kiss Bank Bank two brand new tracks to be released on the album :
TAKO TOKI ? For these three, the stars aligned during a chance meeting in the plumbing section of a major DIY store. After a few attempts at blowing into PVC pipes and banging on dented cans, they decided, in the course of 2023, to create an orchestra that plays its own compositions with homemade instruments, designed from industrial scraps, DIY offcuts, recycled waste, diverted daily life. Obviously, Tako Toki did not invent the concept, there are many illustrious predecessors in wild violin making. However, it is clear that there are wheelbarrows of DIY musicians, but that good music played with homemade instruments is not found under the hooves of a horse. Armed with this observation, the trio tackles a noble objective: to make music that nourishes the body and soul, the opposite of boring DIY instrument demos and the filthy rock of the various trash boys - even if, paradoxically, it means making their audience forget the modest origins of their instrumentarium. Thanks to this constraint, the three accomplices rediscover a creative freshness that had somewhat faded on the road, a childish enthusiasm that feeds on their taste for challenges (can I make real music with these things I made with my big sausage fingers?), and an affinity for DIY, raw art and cross-dressing. Finally, Tako Toki will highlight, and cheaply, a ready-made eco-friendly argument with its decreasing, sober instrumentarium, with a decarbonized balance sheet. Here we prepare for the end of the world while laughing, totally unplugged. When we are confined to our caves, we bet that Tako Toki will continue to tap on Vélib wheels and blow into mammoth bones. Tako Toki is : Etienne de la Sayette - Saxophonist, flautist, composer - he has flourished for twenty years creating many projects on the borders of jazz, groove and world music: he is the father, among others, of Akalé Wubé, Frix, Baeshi Bang, groups that have taken him to almost every stage and five continents. He is also a film music director. Aurèle Gerin - Percussionist, graduated from the Haute École de Musique de Genève, he teaches percussion at the Gabriel Fauré conservatory in Paris. Despite a high-flying academic curriculum, he demonstrates very eclectic activities and tastes, ranging from contemporary music to the most current urban grooves... He created two shows with the dancer Emmy Saumet. He is also a member of the Eklekto collective with which he performs regularly. Nicolas Brémaud - Drummer - clarinetist, he does great splits on stage between Brahms and Ornette Coleman, actively works as a sound engineer (graduated from the CNSM, he occasionally mixes John Mc Laughlin's live performances) and works for the Mezzo channel as a musical advisor to directors for concert recordings.
