The global mutual aid movement THE SORORITY has been launched. 🫶 We are now officially more than 105,000 people helping each other around the world. In the street, on public transport, at work, at parties, online, or at home. Whatever happens: we will never be alone again. Thanks to you, to our collective action, together. Ready to take this mutual aid even further?! THE SORORITY explained in 60 seconds! THE SORORITY is an international mutual aid community and app, free and secure, aimed at taking action together against all forms of violence, isolation, and harassment. Within 1 minute of an alert being triggered, we typically see 10 to 15 contacts (3/4 phone calls and the rest via chat). Over 340k downloads since 2020 (profile verification process - GDPR compliant), more than 105,000 verified and validated profiles, among which over 8,500 people proactively offer a safe place to escape and stay secure. THE SORORITY is available worldwide and translated into 13 languages (French, English, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Swahili, Hindi, Russian, and Arabic). Following an internal survey on our actions: over 94% of users reported that THE SORORITY made them feel safer in the streets and on public transport. Trusted partner: THE SORORITY is recognized and certified by the French Ministry of the Interior and law enforcement agencies (Gendarmerie - Police - Prefecture of Police). OBJECTIVE: MAKE MUTUAL AID A SOCIAL NORM With over 105,000 people engaged in this movement, we can now move to the next stage of our plan: making mutual aid a social norm. Collectively reaching people in situations of isolation, violence, or harassment. Making them realize they are not alone. That solutions exist. And defusing any violent situation at its root. But how? By reaching the tipping point together. How does the tipping point work? It is reached when a critical mass has successfully convinced its own circle of the legitimacy of this social norm. How many people need to be reached to create a social norm? 20% of your close contacts, 1 in 5 people. But I don’t know many people?! That’s precisely through us, the periphery — those with smaller social circles — that large-scale movements come to life. What we are creating is a deep change in our habits, ways of thinking, and actions. This type of change initially spreads from the periphery: through us. We easily bring along our families, close friends, colleagues. Then they, in turn, will talk to their own close circle. And so on. And after that? It’s the domino effect. We spark change. We show that mutual aid is possible and it works. We transform this movement into a new social norm. Into a reflex that we collectively adopt to put an end to all forms of isolation and violence. THE #JESUISTHESORORITY CAMPAIGN Joining the #jesuisthesorority movement means contributing to the expansion of THE SORORITY’s solidarity, all around us and across the world. Wherever we are. At any time. Whenever we need it. We are together. We recognize each other. We draw attention to our actions, naturally sparking opportunities for conversation. Together, we reach thousands of people we may encounter who are either seeking help or ready to offer it in turn. MILESTONES TO TRIGGER THE MOVEMENT Milestones to reach the tipping point and make mutual aid a social norm: ✅ MILESTONE 1 at 1,000 contributions REACHED : + 200,000 people reached and engaged By generating an average of 200 interactions in everyday life—through close circles, colleagues, and people met in the street, on public transport, at events, or while traveling—we can easily mobilize over 200,000 people. MILESTONE 2 at 2,000 contributions: + 400,000 people reached and engaged Using the same average of 200 daily interactions through personal circles, colleagues, and encounters in everyday situations, we can mobilize over 400,000 people. MILESTONE 3 at 3,000 contributions: + 600,000 people reached and engaged Following the same pattern of 200 interactions, we reach over 600,000 people. MILESTONE 4 at 4,000 contributions: + 800,000 people reached and engaged Following this same principle, we mobilize over 800,000 people. MILESTONE 5 at 5,000 contributions: + 1M people reached and engaged With an average of 200 interactions in daily life, we can mobilize over 1,000,000 people.
