Abney Park à Paris : Steam Tour 2014 !

<p> Having Abney Park performing on stage in our country has been <strong>a widespread wish</strong> since the steampunk culture took off in France thank to the passion of its community.</p> <p lang="en-US">  </p> <p> No matter how much you like them or not, these Americans from Seattle indisputably are <strong>the reference band in the genre to this day</strong>. Bringing them to France was a real challenge because of distance, limited budgets of associative events and other material difficulties.</p> <p lang="en-US">  </p> <p> And then the occasion showed up, we discussed a long time with the band, and… T<strong>hey decided to support the Abney Park in Paris project</strong>!</p> <p lang="en-US">  </p> <p> Within the framework of the <strong>Steam Tour</strong>, the Steam Rocket and Abney Park present to you their first concert in France, in Paris, on the 26th of April… With your contribution!</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="176774_original" src="https://kkbb-production.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/project_image/image/65564/176774_original.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <u><strong>Steampunk and Abney Park</strong></u></p> <p>  </p> <p> Steampunk is a <strong>cultural movement </strong>taking the <strong>Industrial Revolution</strong> era as an historical inspiration and background and mixing it up with invented technological devices, events and societal elements. It proposes <strong>a kind of imaginary XIXth century</strong>, and uchronic reality, a science-fiction in the literal sense.</p> <p> <strong>Jules Verne</strong> is considered a spiritual father of the genre. With <strong>a sound mixing</strong> rock, pop, electro and world music, Abney Park music is symptomatic of the movement itself, <strong>diverse and rich of combinations</strong>.</p> <p> The group portrays itself as <strong>the crew of and aerial vessel</strong>, HMS Ophelia, led by their captain Robert Brown towards <strong>astonishing adventures around the world</strong>.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <a href="http://www.abneypark.com/" target="_blank">Abney Park official website</a></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <u><strong>Steam Tour</strong></u></p> <p>  </p> <p> The Steam Tour is a concept <strong>created in 2012</strong> by Eva Sally from Chronoxyde and Thibault Hycarius from Steam Rocket.<strong> It involves gathering the </strong><strong><i>vaporistes</i></strong><strong> </strong>(members of the French-speaking steampunk community) each year and get them to <strong>discover </strong>new cities from a steampunk viewpoint. It is simple: 3 cities, <strong>3 teams of local organisers and 3 week-end of findings, encounters and festivities</strong>!</p> <p>  </p> <p> On the first year, <strong>the Steam Rocket got the ball rolling in Paris</strong>, followed by <strong>Toulouse</strong> and <strong>Nantes</strong>.
