We realized that nobody related, or knew, Brigitte Lahaie’s movies. We could not allow this anymore. After a few weeks, we asked her for her consent, this is what we said to her:</p><p> </p><p><strong>"Brigitte, we have to let the world know of your career! You lived more than a hundred lives in all kinds of movies, from pornography to horror, thrillers, adventure and comedy. You embody the golden age of French porn, and you are the icon of French grindhouse. Your career is unique, abundant, extraordinary, full of images which profoundly stood out to us; your strong roles, hallucinating stories, collaborations with high personalities, all so indicative of the popular cinema of the 70s and 80s. If you agree, we will launch a comprehensive book about you. It is bound to be a crazy book!"</strong></p><p> </p><p>With Brigitte's support, our project could now take form as a book which would reveal two extraordinary decades, starting with a shy young woman discovering the fascinating power of her body. We took an inventory of articles from this period, registers, files, and even texts of laws. We established the best iconography for which it would be possible to gather all of Brigitte Lahaie's insane beauty. We have strong and rare images, such as photos of sets which were still never shown. You will discover what will be maybe the first never published “nymphography”.</p><p> </p><p>We reunited a historian in our team, <strong>Nicolas Lahaye</strong>, an author of a thesis of the third cycle on B movies, which brought us its quite academic rigor to study a non academic subject.</p><p> </p><p>However, all the university knowledge of the world could not, in certain extreme situations, be right in front of subjects which are black holes for intelligence and thought. In these hopeless cases of comedies, kissing being the deepest stupidity, such as the 70s and 80s were able to produce, it is necessary to know how to call overtrained special forces of B and Z cinema, capable of carrying out their mission in front of the most stupid ever developed images. Thus the experts of <strong>Nanarland </strong>will come to restore all the peculiarities of the “nanar” comedy through a case study specially conceived.</p><p> </p><p>The book will also contain original images, suggesting to draftsmen, and confirming with young talents, revisiting cult plans, whole scenes, both restoring their vision of the icon Brigitte Lahaie. Thanks to the participative financing, we thus imagined to turn some of these movies accessible again. The collector's edition of the book includes two DVDs.</p><p> </p><p>We prepared first of all a DVD bonus, which gathers interviews of Brigitte and the various speakers of the book, movies trailers digitized, and three movies with english subtitles :</p><p> </p><p><strong>Tuyauteries inavouables, by Enguerran Prieu (2014)</strong>, a short film which pays tribute in the big time of X of 70’s.</p><p><img alt="Tuyauteries_inavouables-1443569369" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/236939/Tuyauteries_inavouables-1443569369.png"></p><p> </p><p><strong>Les Volets bleus, by Haydée Caillot (1988)</strong>, a medium-length film produces which will make you discover one quite different Brigitte Lahaie's face, as actress in these light-hearted gallantries from Marseille with a particular charm. You will thus be the happy holders, always from the collector's edition, of the unpublished movie since the time of VHS, with <strong>Brigitte Lahai</strong>e of course, but also <strong>Christopher Lee, Chris Mitchum</strong> (the son of Robert), and <strong>Richard Harrison</strong>, realized by the great master of B movies: <strong>Jess Franco</strong>, and produced by matchless French Euromovies firm... A movie so difficult to see that Nanarland granted it the grade of maximal rarity. It is a film about<strong> Dark Mission, the Flowers of Evil (1988)</strong> who sees Brigitte and Chris Mitchum fighting against drug dealers in Colombia! A DVD edition which we realized especially for our book, with bonuses, full of different languages, including english ! You have not ever understood Brigitte to speak Japanese or Polish? And movies with our favorite actress, in all registers, whom we shall be dying to make you (re) discover, we have some in front of us.
