Zura Zaj started in 2009 when we met through the Ghent University Symphony Orchestra, and started to create our own music ourselves.
We also created our own rehearsal format: cooking + eating + rehearsing.

The recording

From 2 to 7 October 2017 we went into the studio together, more specifically Boma Studio in Ghent with Geert de Waegeneer as a technician.

In November - December 2017, Jonathan worked on the editing and mixing of the recordings.

The CD was mastered by Uwe Teichert from Elektropolis. In February 2018 we found the label homerecords.be willing to release the CD.

The artwork of the CD was designed by Justina Česnauskaitė.

The release of the CD is on May 8, 2018.
On May 12 we will give two performances at the Bomfestival (more info)
The release concert of this CD is on 25th May 2018 in the Begijnhof Church St-Elisabeth in Ghent.

The CD

The first CD of Zura Zaj undoubtedly evokes images of travel, of nature, grandeur, (re) birth, ...
We opted for a total concept, and for this we replaced all our old titles with new ones.
Small obstacles (for our fans: this is the old name of the song that is now called "Alight")

The CD is released as a 6-piece digipak with artwork by Justina Česnauskaitė.
