ABOUT THE AUTHOR : Richard CORBEN is an absolute master of independant comics, fed on fantasy culture in all its forms (literature, comics, films, pulp magazines, etc.). A freelance writer, he has spent almost his entire artistic career outside the circuit of the major American comic book publishers, preferring to freely explore his own imaginary worlds. Although he made a strong impression on the French readers of Metal Hurlant or USA Magazine in the 1970s and 1980s, thanks to works such as DEN, BLOODSTAR or LES MILLE ET UNE NUITS (New Tales of the Arabian Nights), his books were long out of print and very hard to find on our side of the Atlantic. Since 2013, all his latest works have found their way back into the French readers's hands and to bookshops thanks to Editions DELIRIUM. At the peak of his art, his return to the forefront of independent comics was rewarded by his peers in 2018 with the Grand Prix du festival de la ville d'Angoulême, the ultimate consecration of his immense career as an artist. Richard CORBEN passed away in December 2020.
