Les Moussieres Resort : United to take the four seasons direction. Development of the resort Les Moussières for an all-seasons tourism. Little country village with 192 inhabitants, Les Moussières is located at an average altitude of 1152 m. Commune of Haut Jura Regional Natural Park, ideally located in the “Hautes Combes”, vast space of large valleys and forests where man faces a rich and preserved nature, les Moussières has, through the cottages and the vacation village Georges Moustaki 400 beds available according to the seasons. With climate change, the increased interest of families for the medium altitude mountain range, the need to find itself, to enjoy clean and fresh air, to recharge the batteries in an authentic nature, the Les Moussières resort has decided to develop its all-season hospitality offer to continue to assume pleasure to all as part of sustainable tourism and unspoilt nature. The chosen site is La Laurende, a well appreciated green setting, chosen, 50 years ago, to install the ski lifts due to the orientation of the mountain, easy access, the large parking, the dead-end access road; perfect quiet place for families. The Georges Moustaki holiday village with its swimming pool and tennis, is sited in this part of the resort. Linked to the center of the village by a path along a typical mountain bog, the La Laurende must be equipped with infrastructure for 4-season tourism. Les Moussières is a country village with countless activities organized with many associations: • an important agricultural sector represented by the Cheeses Shophouse (la Fruitière) with three “Controlled Origin Appellations” (Comté, Morbier, Bleu de Gex), • a tourism and discovery place with winter and summer tourist activities • Dynamic artisanal and commercial sectors. Village Council Since the resort has no income (no artisanal area, no forest in its own right) the Village Council, eager to move forward, has decided to federate professionals and individuals who, in love with the “Hautes Combes” mountains, are ready to participate in this challenge:
Allocation of funds
United to take the four seasons direction. The challenge objective: continue to bring pleasure to all Les Moussières friends, current and future. The improvement in hospitality, through all-season activities, was grounded on: • The provision of commodities: construction of a sanitary block • The construction of a covered area (48m2) to allow hikers, bikers, cross-country skiers, riders, dreamers, ... to rest in the shade or sheltered from bad weather, to enjoy the peacefulness of the place, of nature and of course to eat by taking their snack out of the bag. • The provision of charging stations for electric bicycles (e-bikes) allowing cyclists to continue their discovery of the Hautes Combes without suffering too much! The system will also charge the off-road scooters as well the wheelchairs used by the disabled. • The parking side landscaping with the extension of children’s games and the establishment of information and awareness to better respect the nature and its guests (wildlife). United to make the Moussières a welcoming territory "4 seasons" for all (humans, animals, nature) The environment respect will guide the technical choices of the achievements in collaboration with local artisans.
