(Sigh!) Mon - Short film !

(Sigh!) Mòn Sy Mòn was once a famous singer and songwriter but his days of success are long gone. All that is left of his glorious past is his arrogance. Refusing to see this reality for himself he accepts an invitation to a small music conference in France. But from the moment he arrives at the airport his expectations of a revival to fame and fortune come crushing down on him. A tragic comedy unfolds when his welcoming party of misfits, consisting of Gustave - his chauffeur without a limousine, Margaux - everything… but a fan, Alice - a hugely excitable fan and a documentary cameraman try to help him to come to terms with his new reality; No money, no house, no fame, no wife and no cat! How can this end happily? (Sigh!) Mòn is going to be the second film coming from this team. Our first project, Qualms (Drama 2022) is currently on the film festival circuit. With this film we are going to dive into the genre of comedy. Shooting (Sigh!) Mòn will be the occasion to work again with Philippe Spillmann, Elise Roussel, Fanny Roussel and for the first time with Alicia F., Tony Marlowe and Ethan Beaufort! Maxime Simone - Director Maxime is the son and grand son of factory workers from the area around Longwy, Lorraine in France. His upbringing was far from his artistic dreams but he had the courage and the support to follow his passion. He taught himself how to tell stories through the medium of film because he never believed that he could attend a school that teaches filmmaking. His first film « Le Spectre de fer » was shown at the cinema in Longwy during his studies of sociology. It focuses on a former factory worker who returned after thirty years to Longwy to remember what the steel industry was like before it was shut down in the 70’s. « De Sueur et d’Acier » is his first documentary about the iron and steel industry. His first long film documentary « So far from Hell » followed in May 2022 after a three-year working process. Dominique Casoni - Writer Dominique brought the original idea of (Sigh!) Món to the table. As an unbelievably positive thinking human being she is convinced the arts are a fantastic way to connect people through emotion and reflection. And of course we all thinks she is right! Dominique has been working with international artists for years and has seen what effects their talents can bring to our society. For her, Qualms - her first produced short-film script - was a way to bring together a team of international artists to create some fascinating work. She sees the medium of film as a way to reflect on individuals and on our society. Alessandro Visentin - associate producer Alessandro is a diverse, multi-lingual artist from Germany who has worked as an actor, director, producer and author on many national and international theatre, film and TV productions. Over the course of his career he has been praised by colleagues and critics alike. Alessandro has created solo-interactive-multi-media shows and likes being challenged on stage during improvisations. He enjoys thorough research into characters and gives his utmost to truthfully portray the given roles. Pink Castor - Production company Arnaud Sonntag founded the company in 2018 and manages it ever since. Pink Castor grows rapidly and specialises in cinema and live shows. Arnaud holds a degree in cultural development and management. His expertise in managing projects and in finding funds is an asset to coordinate this project. He holds the « Licence Professionnelle Assistant de Gestion «. Pink Castor will take on the responsibility of finding co-funders, finding technicals solutions on set, and will coordinate the entire project. Xavier Parisot - Associate producer Xavier is the President of Swee*T, a non profit organisation offering workshops, theatre performances and talks in their original version and language. Xavier, a music lover and cello player himself, supports the arts in general. He created the “Theatre and cinema summer camp” for children. Naturally, he became associate producer of Qualms - the previous film this team realised. Philippe Margeotte & J’Aime le cinéma Philippe is, and has been the president of J’aime le cinéma for more than ten years. As a non-profit organisation they aim at educating audiences in cinema related aspects. The association is based in Longwy, France and offer regular courses on how to direct or shoot films. J’aime le cinema helps young directors by offering them technical and financial support as well as giving them a platform to show their films. Several of the produced films were awarded prizes during Festival Réel en vue in Thionville, Créajeune, a transborder festival and the Diamond Bell International Film Festival in India. Philippe taught image education at the University of Lorraine and is a facilitator for various courses at schools and for an organisation called Passeurs d’Images du Grand Est.
