Culture is considered a central concept. That is transmitted through social learning in human societies. Culture is the set of customs, traditions and communities, such as an ethnic group.

What we want to discover Karen Culture are religions, food, what they wear, language, marriage, music, what they believe, ceremonies, how they sit on the table, how they greet visitors or react to visitors, how they behave with loved ones and life style. we will collect all their properties what they use in their life. we will keep all in Karen Culture Center.

Now a day, Karen culture becomes waste more and more. It comes from modern development. The world is changing, people is changing too. Young Karen people don’t know their own culture, language, character and ceremonies. Now it’s a time to discover the real Karen culture in Thailand and Myanmar. we want to save our culture.

At the same time, there are many European interested in Karen Culture. They really want to touch the living of hill tribe and to learn from them. it will be a good time for us to share our culture around the world.

Tee Watertown

Hello! I'm Tee, 26 years old. I'm Karen tribe at northern Thailand. I'm the owner of Karen Cultural Treks and Dreams Come True group. I speak Karen, Thai and English and now I'm learning French.

Family

I live in small village, 180 persons. it is full of nature and mountains. Every family work in rice fields and their garden. My village is far from the city for 2 hours. Everyone live in simple of life, helping each other, work together, talk to everybody and care for each other.

I really give you thanks for supporting us to save our culture.

Taweechai Luesam

Hello! I'm Taweechai Luesam. I'm 25 years old. I'm Karen tribe as well. I speak Karen, Thai and English.

Family

I live in the village but not the same village with Tee. We live far a way from each other for 4 hours by a car, we speak the same language but the culture a bit different. I really want to save my culture and keep it for the next generation. Thank you so much for helping us.

We will start our project as fast as possiple because it takes one year to discover the culture. It takes long because each period of time will not be the same celebration, works, ceremony or some other activities. For example May - Octorber, it is rice season. Before working in the rice fields, they offer something to the spirit or pray for their buffaloes to work. Those activities, We need you to support us.
