SustyGrab : a game to change the world, starting with ourselves
We created SustyGrab so that people can have fun together while realizing that all their everyday actions are opportunities to reduce their footprint on the planet and have a positive impact on those around them. While playing SustyGrab, young and not-so-young alike (re)discover actions and practices that help preserve our planet's resources, and are encouraged to make them part of their daily lives and talk about them to others. SustyGrab cards can be used to play a wide range of games and create educational activities. The cards come with instructions for 3 game plays: - SustyQuest: a game that mixes strategy and luck and can be played by 2 to 10 players - GrabSpoons: a popular game of speed and attention for 6 or more players - SustyMimes: the famous mime game, played by 2 or more players, for fun in pairs or teams. The cards can be adapted to suit all ages, for light-hearted play, learning, raising awareness or engaging in real-life dares. SustyGrab is sold by the association Back to School for the Planet (founded in France in 2021). As a non-profit organization, our commitments are the following: 1) For every game purchased, we donate a game to an institution that cares for children (1 game purchased = 1 game donated to an institution or association). 2) Profits from the sales of the game will be used for grants to people or organizations committed to sustainable development, equality and justice. 3) We choose our partners (printers, etc.) on the basis of their environmental commitments, and pay them fairly. Over a period of almost two years, we created the content of the 120+ cards that make up the game, tested it in Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America, and designed it to strike just the right balance between fun, sharing, learning and taking action! SustyGrab is the result of the combined sensibilities, cultures and expertise of its 3 creators: Oluwaseun Ladipo Adekitan (he/him), Babajide Oluwase (he/him) and Johanna Wagner (she/her), combined with the creativity of artist Fanaha (she/her).
The funds raised will be used to finance the printing of the first SustyGrab games for the initial deliveries* before Christmas 2024 online and in shops. For each game purchased (during and after the crowdfunding campaign), one game will be donated to an institution that looks after children (school, orphanage, hospital, association, etc.). The funds raised will also be used to finance the printing and delivery of these donations. Thanks to the funds raised, we'll be able to order several hundred games at once for a large-scale launch! * We'll do our best, but delivery dates are not guaranteed.
