The Horror Videoclub Part Deux: 3 unreleased horror movies on blu-ray
Thank you all for your support! We're working hard to finalize the blu-rays, which we'll ship in February 2024. We're behind schedule with the subtitles, since we had over 16 hours of subtitles to subtitle and check! We shall receive the new blu-ray at the end of March and well start shipping right away. For latecomers, you can pre-order Nightmares at Daytona Beach (1981), Fatal Games (1984) and The Lamp (1987) on our Pulsestore.net website. https://pulsestore.net/categorie-produit/horreur/ See you soon for the delivery and launch of our new projects! __________________________________________________________________ Rewind years with The Horror Videoclub: the most terrifying and nostalgic of collections is back! We're offering you the chance to (re)discover 3 new gems of '80s horror as you've never seen them before, on blu-ray with new masters restored to uncut versions, original French dubbing, original subtitled versions and extras. On the menu: psychokiller with Nightmare (1981), slasher with Fatal Games (1984) and horror fantasy with The Lamp (1987). During this campaign, you'll also be able to prepare for Christmas with our exclusive bundle including the new slasher release from our friends at Rimini, Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984) and Claude Gaillard's book Ça sent le sapin (in French), which tells you all about the worst end-of-year celebrations in cinema. This campaign is also an opportunity to acquire the first titles in the collection: The Children (1980), Mausoleum (1984) and Spookies (1986), which are now running low, as well as the latest arrival, Hard Rock Zombies (1985). But let's start with telling you more with this new bunch of horror films... He tortures, he soils, he kills... Nightmare (1981) directed by Romano Scavolini Original title: Nightmare in a Damaged Brain Story: In a mental hospital in New York, George Tatum, has been under intensive care for two years, and is being experimented with certain drugs that seem to improve his condition. He is classified as psychotic/paranoid/amnesiac. Despite what the doctor treating him thinks, one of the experimental drugs administered to him is having harmful effects. George then gets out of control, and, in pursuit of an unknown destination, begins to sow his path of abominable murders... The film: In the early '80s, Italian writer-director Romano Scavolini tried his hand at the trendy slasher genre, delivering Nightmare. This co-production between Italy and the United States was immediately censored. In North America, the MPA (Motion Picture Association) classified the film X. In the UK, the distributor who dared to release the film in its original cut was prosecuted. Romano Scavolini's brutal and disturbing work was finally banned and joined the infamous Videonasties list. In France, Nightmare was banned for viewers under 18. Nightmare also features special effects by two of the best in the business: Tom Savini (Friday the 13th, Zombie, Day of the Living Dead) and Ed French (Sleepaway Camp, CHUD, Breeders, Creepshow 2). This cult film deserved an edition that lived up to its reputation. In association with the excellent American publisher Severin Films, we bring you an exceptional double blu-ray. Many of you want to know: Nightmare is presented to you in its most complete cut to date, in a restored 2K master, from a 4K scan made from the 35mm internegative. All this is accompanied by 5 hours of supplements, spread over 2 blu-rays, all with French subtitles, and a reversible cover featuring the French and American release posters, as well as an exclusive slipcover. Release features : All-zone double blu-ray Exclusive slipcover Reversible cover Vintage French version and original version with subtitles Blu-ray 1: The film The film in VHSVision Kill Thy Father And Thy Mother, interview with director Romano Scavolini (71 min) Dreaming Up A Nightmare, making-of (39 min) The Nightmare Of Nightmare, interview with special effects director Tom Savini (8 min) The Stuff That Nightmares Are Made Of, Interview with make-up artist Robin Stevens (12 min) A Nightmare On Many Streets, location visit with writer Michael Gingold (11 min) Full-frame Peep Show sequence (3 min) Cut scenes Photo gallery Original trailer Blu-ray 2 : Damages: The Very Britih Obscenity of David Hamilton-Grant, documentary on British producer and distributor David Hamilton-Grant, who was imprisoned for distributing Nightmare in the UK (71 min) 3 rare David Hamilton-Grant productions: The Office Party (55 min), Under the Bed (53 min), You're Driving Me Crazy (53 min), Escape to Entebbe (9 min) The Olympics of terror... Fatal Games (1984) directed by Michael Elliot Story: Located in Brookfall, Massachusetts, the Falcon Academy of Athletics is anything but an ordinary school. For decades, it has trained generations of champions to represent the United States at the Olympic Games. The class of 1984 was a most promising one, with seven young athletes qualifying for a national tournament of the utmost importance. However, a mysterious killer armed with a javelin is prowling the campus, and one by one, the students are disappearing. The film: Did you hate jocks at school? It's time to get your revenge with Fatal Games,. Completely unseen on DVD and blu-ray, this absolutely typical '80s slasher contains all the codes of the genre: school setting, nudity, sadistic murders committed by a mysterious killer, all playfully seasoned with athletic sauce. And to top it all off, it closes with a revelation worthy of Sleepaway Camp. The original negative having been lost, with our friends at Vinegar Syndrome, we managed to track down a 35mm interpositive in France, from which we created a new 2K master. The film score was composed by Shuki Levy. Special effects are by Wayne Beauchamp (Creature, Children of the Corn, Maniac Cop 2) and Paul Staples (Maniac Cop, American Warrior II). Release features : All-zone Blu-ray Exclusive Slicpcover Reversible cover French original version and original version with subtitles The film in VHS'Vision Interview with actress Melissa Prophet Interview with actress Spice Williams Interview with actress Tracie Hellberg Interview with producer Jonathan Braun Interview with actor Michael O'Leary Interview with actor Sean Masterson VHS trailer program by Otto Rivers Make a wish, if you dare... The Lamp (1987) directed by Tom Daley Original title: The Outing Story: An old lamp, accompanied by a bracelet, has just made its debut at the Museum of Natural History in Houston, Texas. The jewel is of great interest to the curator's daughter, who whimsically slips the bracelet onto her wrist. Immediately, the teenager is under the spell of the magic lamp, and the evil spirit it contains orders her to spend the night in the museum with her classmates. The forces of evil will be unleashed until dawn. The film: Released on videocassette in France under the banner of GCR (Gaumont-Columbia-RCA Vidéo), Tom Daley's The Lamp made a lasting impression on video store customers of the time. And with good reason: this terrifying revisited version of the tale of Aladdin's lamp offers a lot to see. Starting with some delightful special effects sequences. Magic tricks by those who worked on Critters, The Blob, Freddy's Nightmare, Dead Heat, From Beyond, Dolls and Re-animator II. In short, for fans of 80s horror cinema, The Lampe is a must-see. For the first time in France, we're offering you the chance to discover or rediscover The Lamp in its full 92-minute version, in a high-definition master restored from the 35mm interpositive. Our edition features a reversible cover with the original French visuals on one side, and the U.S. poster on the other (under its American release title: The Outing). Finally, we offer a sublime blood-red slipcover, limited to 1000 copies, featuring the artwork from the U.S. poster. Release features : All-zone Blu-ray Reversible cover Exclusive slipcover French original version and original version with subtitles The film in VHSVision Documentary All in the Family: Taking an Outing in the Lamp, looking back at the genesis and production of the film Original trailer VHS trailer program by Otto Rivers The last of the first... During the first Horror Videoclub campaign last January, almost 400 of you pre-ordered your blu-rays of The Children (1980), Mausoleum (1983), and Spookies (1987). Since then, these three blu-rays have had their little lives, and stock has melted like snow in the sun. But we've carefully set aside some copies for this campaign, as well as the last available slipcovers. You can order them during this campaign, in a pack with the new films in the collection. By the way, the collection will soon include 7 films in all, as the delirious Hard Rock Zombies (1985) is also included, and you can order it with the three new films, or even with the whole collection. Do you have the balls? With Christmas just around the corner, we've come up with a great gift idea in collaboration with our friends at Rimini: a package at a great price, including Charles E. Sellier Jr.'s cult slasher SIlent Night, Deadly Night (1984) and Claude Gaillard's book Ça sent le sapin, (in French), which explores the dark side of Christmas in film. On the menu: frightening Christmas Eves, psychopathic Santas, creatures that aren't presents, and a thousand other nightmares for big kids... Last but not least... Enjoy our beautiful books, too, including the latest, Zombies (to be released on November 22, 2023) with the exclusive KissKissBankBank extra cover, the last copies of which are available here with this handsome 356-page book, which explores the figure of the undead in film and television, from its earliest forays to the present day.
