Hi Thierry. Yes it is low and as the minimum goal will most likely not be met by August 20th, every contributor will be refunded. Which does not mean this is the end of the story.

One contributor from Thailand wanted to buy four boards but KKBB refused his money on illegitimate anti-money laundering pretenses. He ended up wiring me the money outside of this crowd funding effort and, as a result he is guaranteed to receive four kits of the very first batch. I received 5 PCBs a week ago. I will validate the setup and order the missing components for a small batch and serve him as first order of business.

I am not sure what exactly failed here. It could be my lack of knack for marketing or the fact that people have other ways to spend their money during the summer months. Or it could be that KKBB is not a suitable vehicle.

Hi François,As I definitely would like to eventually do more than dreaming about the 6809 since my childhood, I'm ready to wire you back my current contribution too. ;-)And if I can by that enjoy one of your available boards or spare components, I would really be glad to do so.

We will probably never know why that went wrong.It seems that the 6809/6309 have less appeal in comparison to the 6502 or even Z80 retro-lovers these days.Maybe the lack of display/keyboard connectivity looks less interesting.Or FORTH is the deterrent ? Who knows ? But it is KISS, and that's what I like about it. ;-)
